Complete this quick form to request pruning work or removal of a street tree or tree in a Borough Park: Tree Pruning & Removal Request. Pruning and removal of Street Trees MAY NOT proceed without approval from the Tree Commission. 

Removal must be completed by a Borough-approved arborist, and three quotes must be obtained to qualify for partial reimbursement. 

Finding an Approved Arborist

Aside from being permitted, street tree trimming or removal must be completed by a trained, insured, and credentialed arborist vetted by the Borough of West Chester.

Planting a Street Tree

Help West Chester grow its urban forest by planting street trees on your property! Owners may request a FREE Street Tree by submitting this quick application, and receive a $50 credit towards your annual stormwater fee. 

Approved Street Tree Lists

Not all trees make great street trees. Some have maintenance, pest, size, or shape characteristics that can create a public nuisance or unsafe conditions.
