About Public Works

The Borough of West Chester Public Works Department is structured to be responsive to needs of our residents and maintain the Borough’s streets, sewers, parks, buildings, and facilities. We also provide weekly trash and recycling pick up as well as brush and pickup of bulk items- for qualifying residential properties. We pickup on average 48 tons of trash and 12 tons of recycling every week. This service is paid for through general fund revenue instead of a special fee.

  • Storm water systems
  • Maintaining vehicle fleet and equipment
  • Solid Waste, recycling and yard waste collection
  • Snow removal
  • Street sweeping
  • Street signs, pavement and curb markings
  • Tree planting and pruning
  • Buildings and grounds
  • Parking lots and garages
  • Permits for street openings
