Bulk Collection
A bulk item is a single item that cannot fit into a trash can or borough bag or weighs more than 60 pounds, but can be handled by two men. Bulk items are collected the 1st full, business week of every month. During this week, residents who receive Borough trash collection may place one bulk item out with their regular trash.
Small Bulk Items: trash customers may place one small bulk item curbside for pickup once per month. For small bulk items there is no charge to the trash customer. A small bulk item is defined as less than 60 pounds, less than 30 cubic feet and capable of being safely picked up by two people. Upholstered items are typically paid items.
Large Bulk Items: for bulk items that do not meet the small bulk item definition there is a $35 charge for each item. For example, mattresses, box springs and upholstered items are typically large bulk items. Trash customers are invited to complete the Bulk Trash Form using the link . Residents may submit the form and payment at 205 Lacey Street Monday thru Thursday from 8AM – 3PM. Once the application is submitted with payment the Borough will provide a pickup date. There is a drop box at 205 Lacey Street to assist residents dropping off the form and payment after hours.
Public Works employees are not permitted on private property, so bulk items must be placed curbside on the specified day of pickup.
Pickup Days
Bulk trash collection takes place on the regular trash collection day for your quadrant during the 1st full, business week of each month. If the first of the month falls on a business day after a Monday, bulk collection will take place the following week.
